Toddler Visit (August 2025)
Creating meaningful connections between generations has brough happiness and enjoyment to our residents at Langham Manor recently. The recent visit from a local toddler’s group, highlights the power and meaning that these visits and interactions with toddlers can have on the residents.
The visit from the toddler’s group was an uplifting event for all the residents, filling the home with lots of laughs and playful energy. The children, filled with curiosity lit up the resident’s day making them remember many happy memories with their families and grandkids.
The interaction between our residents and the toddlers created a memory that will be remembered by all. The residents were delighted to meet the toddler’s and play fun games and interactive activities.
The toddlers got to experience first hand the importance of kindness and sharing with others, while getting cuddles and playing fun games with an older generation.
The residents in our care home were delighted to play games with the children, laugh and have great fun interacting with a younger generation. This visit allowed the residents to break their daily routine and give them a joyful experience which has many benefits towards their mental health. Getting to play with the young children will uplift the resident’s mood and the happy environment will help to increase their overall well-being.
This visit is a testimony to the impact that the local community can have on the residents and the importance meaningful activities have in uplifting the general mood of the home.
A friendly game of curling this week saw two very competitive teams, determined to win💪
A special visit from Sean from Clock Cricket made for a perfect afternoon💙

Our lovely Rachael has lived a wonderfully exciting and fulfilling life, from living in New York to training to be a Nurse at St Bart’s and having two wonderful daughters🥰
Rachael lived in New York and became an air hostess for Pan America, which she enjoyed and liked to talk about and tell stories of the fun she had✈️
Rachael decided she would like to move back to the UK and train to become a Nurse at St Bart’s College in London, where she became a theatre sister!
While back in the UK, Rachael met Nicolas through friends. Nicolas was a Tea Taster in India, where they ended up living together for a short while🌎
They both then headed back to the UK and started a family. Rachael & Nicolas had two lovely daughters, Joanna and Alexandra, who both still live locally and take mum out weekly!
Unfortunately, this marriage ended in divorce, and Rachael eventually met her second husband, Michael, who was an airline pilot. This saw Rachael getting to see some more of the world.
Rachael became a very talented interior designer, making high-end curtains👩🎨
Rachael throws herself into all activities and enjoys dancing, curling and even likes to call out the bingo numbers for Tash now and again!

Burns night celebrations Langham style😆
We enjoyed a yummy lunch complete with whiskey, some residents opted for lemonade, some wanted it neat 😆
Haggis was on the menu, flags and bunting all done by the residents, dessert was a Scottish special💪
Tash even completed the lunch with some Scottish country dancing for the residents 🤣
